Happy Friday, Hamilton! π
This is the weekend Hamilton has been building toward all month. π΅
The 55th Annual JUNO Awards arrive at TD Coliseum on Sunday, March 29, and the entire city is buzzing. JUNOfest presented by CBC takes over multiple downtown venues Friday and Saturday night, with live music pouring out of Mills Hardware, Corktown Pub, Ooey Gooey's and more. The JUNO Songwriter's Circle brings intimate acoustic performances and candid conversations with nominated artists to FirstOntario Concert Hall on Friday evening. And on Sunday, the big show itself goes live on CBC with performances from Arkells, The Beaches, Daniel Caesar, Sarah McLachlan, Allison Russell, and a tribute to Joni Mitchell. Hamilton is on the national stage this weekend. Let's get into it.

π½οΈ Where To Eat This Weekend
Hamilton: π HAMBRGR
Where: 49 King William St, Hamilton
A downtown Hamilton institution that has been perfecting its formula for years: locally sourced ingredients, craft beer on tap, handmade burgers, fresh-cut fries, and a lively atmosphere that fits right in on King William Street. With a new menu now available and the JUNO weekend bringing extra energy to the neighbourhood, this is one of the best pre-show dinner options in the downtown core. Open daily from 11 AM.
What to order: A build-your-own burger, the Bomb Ass Chips and Dip to start, and a local craft beer alongside.

Ancaster: π₯ The Forge Bar-BQ
Where: 1242 Garner Rd W, Ancaster
Opened in January 2026 and already building a devoted following, The Forge Bar-BQ is Ancaster's new roadhouse for slow-smoked barbecue done right. Six experienced partners built this place around a simple belief: great barbecue brings people together. The kitchen smokes its meats overnight and serves everything fresh at its peak, with limited daily quantities to protect quality. Brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken alongside sides like mac and cheese and fried Brussels sprouts. Live music runs Friday and Saturday nights from 8:30 to 11:30 PM. A great neighbourhood option if you're heading out to Ancaster this weekend.
What to order: The brisket or the ribs, a smoked side, and ask what the kitchen is featuring that day.

Hamilton: π Eem Khao
Where: 301 James St N, Hamilton
Inspired by Bangkok's Chinatown and landing on James Street North with vibrant Thai-Chinese street food and a lively atmosphere, Eem Khao has been earning strong reviews since opening. The name translates to "I'm full" in Thai, and that's exactly the feeling the kitchen delivers with its bold noodle dishes, fragrant rice plates, and shareable starters rooted in the cooking traditions of Yaowarat Road. A perfect dinner stop before a JUNOfest night downtown. Open Friday from 11:30 AM and Saturday from noon.
What to order: Ask your server for the current street food favourites and start sharing.

π½ Restaurant of the Week, James Street North
β¨ Undefined
π 35 King William St, Hamilton
The Vibe
Undefined lives up to its name in the best way. Located on King William Street, steps from downtown Hamilton, this restaurant refuses to be boxed in. The mantra is simply "eat, drink, enjoy," and the kitchen backs it up by taking familiar ideas and turning them into something genuinely worth coming back for. The space is lively, welcoming, and exactly the kind of place that builds a loyal regular crowd by being consistently good.
The Food
The menu spans brunch, lunch, and dinner with a creative, genre-defying approach: serving what they want, when they want. Brunch runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM and has become one of the most talked-about weekend meals in the neighbourhood. The dinner menu brings the same energy into the evening with bold plates and cocktails to match. There's also a dessert menu worth saving room for.
Why We Love It
With a JUNO weekend bringing thousands of music fans through downtown Hamilton, Undefined is exactly the kind of spot that earns new regulars: creative, unpretentious, and reliably good. It feels like it belongs in this city.
Perfect For
JUNO weekend brunches, post-show Friday dinners, date nights, or any time you want something creative without the formality. Reservations are recommended this weekend.
What to order: Weekend brunch is a must, or come in for dinner Friday before JUNOfest and let the kitchen surprise you.

π§ Hamilton Life Hack of the Weekend
πΈ JUNOfest is first-come, first-served, so have a backup plan. If you arrive at your first choice venue and the line is too long, move to the next one on the circuit. Organizers say there will always be a show with space somewhere nearby. The two-day pass is the best value if you're going both Friday and Saturday, and buying tickets online in advance is faster than the door. Start early to land your first choice of venue, then follow the music wherever it leads.
