🍽️ Where To Eat This Weekend

Ancaster: 🍕 Famiglia Ristorante

Where: 2 Cameron Dr, Ancaster

A family-run Italian gem in the heart of Ancaster, Famiglia Ristorante is the kind of place you walk into as a stranger and leave feeling like you belong. Owned by Mark Falzon, the menu features stone oven pizzas, homemade pastas, paninis, and fresh Italian desserts, all crafted with the kind of care that only a family kitchen can deliver. Perfect for a casual but memorable weekend dinner.

What to order: Stone oven pizza (the Famiglia pizza is a fan favourite), a classic pasta, and save room for the gelato.

Dundas: 🥣 The Burnt Tongue

Where: 11 King St W, Dundas

A Dundas favourite and a Hamilton institution with deep roots, The Burnt Tongue is the ultimate comfort food stop. Known for their rotating seasonal soups, grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and fresh salads, the menu caters to vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diners without sacrificing an ounce of flavour. The French Onion Grilled Cheese alone is worth the trip to King Street.

What to order: Soup of the day + the French Onion Grilled Cheese. A perfect cold-weather combo.

Waterdown: 🇮🇹 L'Altra Milano Ristorante

Where: 10 Main St S, Waterdown

Waterdown's most talked-about dining destination, L'Altra Milano, is a modern Italian restaurant with boutique vibes and an unmistakably authentic kitchen. Chef Bruno Arcidiacono, who spent 13 years cooking in Milan before earning his Canadian Red Seal, brings handmade pastas, grilled branzino, and house-crafted gnocchi to the heart of downtown Waterdown. It's #1 on TripAdvisor in Waterdown for good reason.

What to order: The mushroom risotto, spaghetti seafood, or the gnocchi in tomato with burrata. Don't skip tiramisu.

Binbrook: 🍖 The Binbrook Grill

Where: 3020 Binbrook Rd, Binbrook

The Binbrook Grill is that rare kind of neighbourhood restaurant that punches well above its weight. Using locally sourced Ontario ingredients whenever possible, the menu ranges from applewood-smoked baby back ribs and rotisserie chicken to fresh Lake Erie perch and AAA steaks. Fridays feature great fish specials, Saturdays bring prime rib, and most Fri/Sat evenings there's live music to round out the night.

What to order: Saturday prime rib or the smoked baby back ribs with sea salt fries and slaw on the side.

Hamilton: 🍕 Bardō (Locke Street)

Where: 258 Locke St S, Hamilton

A Locke Street institution since its days as Earth to Table: Bread Bar, Bardō has been a Hamilton community favourite since 2010. Built on the philosophy that good ingredients matter, the menu features stone-baked pizzas, vibrant seasonal salads, hearty burgers, and craft cocktails, all made with locally sourced ingredients. Sunday brunch (9:30 AM–2 PM) is an all-you-can-enjoy affair that's become a neighbourhood ritual.

What to order: The Bee Sting pizza, house hummus with za'atar, or the Bardo Bowl. Sunday brunch is a must-try.
